Need support

2 months ago I started working part time at Target. I'm not doing very good. I do have good days where I don't mess up , but the bad ones out weigh the good ones. I know cashiering seems like an easy job, but it's really not. I have bipolar disorder and am on disability. I thought I could work after 10 yrs of not working , but it's not going very good. I need prayer. I have anxiety during my whole shift even though I take a klonopin before I go. I also study the Bible, pray, and read scriptures outloud to myself. I don't want to fail at this and I can use the money, but not at the expense of my mental health. Thanks for your support and prayers.

I will be praying for you Becky, that you will be able to overcome this anxiety. I used to be very anxious, and I realized the reasons, and it went away. What do you fear? If you are worried about being anxious, it will make you more anxious. Kind of a feedback loop?

Sometimes it is difficult to find the source of the problem. But prayer does change not just things, but people. I will keep you in prayer, as I know this job is important to you. I also think that you can do it. Instead of thinking about the bad days, why not keep a calendar, and chart the good days. Write what happened that made it good. Think about those things when you go the next day. Rehearse how to have a good day. Hugs and God bless.

I agree with Angela that it would be better if you replay the moments that go well in your mind, and try to focus on all that you are doing correctly. "Progress, not Perfection" is a slogan I use to help me to not worry so much about trying to do it all perfectly. I do know that the more fearful I am, the more mistakes I make. My advice would be to slow down a bit so that you feel you have the time to concentrate, don't rush as that will cause you to make mistakes more often. Also, you WILL get better and better at this as the weeks go by and your nerves calm down. Every job I've ever had got easier after a few months, and I'll bet this one will, too!

I will be praying for you.Dwell on the thingsthat are good. the enemy loves us to negative selftalk, it gives him a hldin our lives. like the bible says thing on the good things like Godspromises andpraise him for the blessings

I certainly will pray for you, dealing with Bi-Polor is a very difficult thing to do but it can be done. Just remember to keep the Lord before you and focus on Him. I agree things do get better as you work through them so hang in there and know prayers are being said for you

I would do the very same thing as you, but God can take care of it!! You are not alone, I can't memorize well anymore but when anxiety hits I say (to myself) I can do all things through Christ who liveth in me. No kidding it has worked, If that's too long I just think Christ can do it, then the flow of the register will do whatever it is supposed to do,

Congratulations first of all for the job, you are working at that's brilliant! We all doubt ourselves and our abilities. And I know full well that mistakes happen, that's life. Bipolar or not. I have bipolar too hon. HuGE hug
