CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
prayer on his behalf:
Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up to you Gordos's son who struggles with alcoholism. Please Father release him from this oppression. Help and guide him to a full recovery. Keep him safe Lord during this time. Father please comfort Gordos and grant her your peace of mind and body. Let her feel your holy presence and give her rest Lord. In the holy and magnificent name of Jesus , we pray. Amen.
whyonlychild, I feel your pain with the holidays coming up. My ES started being really nasty right before Christmas 2 years ago & hasn't stopped. I am SO dreading Christmas. I am praying to God to give me a Christmas miracle. I have really been struggling the last 2 weeks. I know I am being attacked by the evil one. I don't even like to type his name, because I think that gives him power. Hang in there! We are ALL doing the best we can given the circumstances.
texassunshine, my brother said the same thing. He has been sober for 30+ years & STILL struggles. I had a dream a few years back that he had started drinking again. I was SO upset when I woke up. I sent him a text & asked him if he was ok..he was. He wasn't very nice when he drank, he was combative & abusive. I suspect my son is a not-so-nice drunk. I know he has gotten into a few fights.
I am especially sensitive to alcoholism because both my parents were such severe, heavy drinkers. I always warned my boys there were more likely to become alcoholics because of their family history. I have been blaming myself for their depression/alcohol problems because I passed it down to them. I am slowly starting to realize that I didn't do it on purpose & shouldn't blame myself.
