Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. New here - Daughter left home
hannahsmom54
Our 20 year old daughter left home while we were sleeping a little over a month ago. She had plans to go to a girlfriend's house in Texas (we are in North Carolina) and made all the arrangements to fly there. She stayed there 1 month. This friend had "introduced" her to a man that lives in Texas and they have been communicating over a year now via phone, text, email and skype. She has now moved in with him. The friend has called us, apologizing for having anything to do with this situation. I believe she is truly sorry. Our hearts are breaking. She is our firstborn. We are Christians but this man is more New Age than anything else. We can't believe she has turned her back on everything she has been taught. We know we have made many mistakes but are wanting her to come back and work things out. She has informed us (via email) that she is where she needs to be. She actually wrote to ask if they could come and visit at Christmas. We told her no - not with him. This man is 27 years old than our daughter! The emotions are rampant. My husband is especially devastated. I am, too, but he had a very close relationship with her up until a few years ago. I guess she had really been drifting for quite awhile but we didn't notice. Any words of wisdom? How in the world do you get past this and move on. My husband and I met late in life and had our daughter when I was 40 so I'm now 60 and he's 62. This definitely wasn't what we had planned for our senior years!

That's where my son left me and moved in with girl friend.. when I said she could not sleep here, and her mom let them at her house. It's been over 4 years now, since I've seen him. He left here and never looked back. That is not worthy of estrangement.. we have the right to say if we want them messin around in our homes.

And he was raised better to begin with.

hannahsmom - I can only imagine how devastating this must be for you. Our EC that are rebelling and do not claim to be serving the Lord, well, anything and everything seems to go on. 20 years old for some is quite mature, but for others 20 is still pretty naïve and vulnerable. I was a strong, smart kid, truly trying to serve the Lord (as a new missionary) at 20 but was still easily persuaded by older men. Every time the Lord rescued me by having them leave me. I do not know how I got mixed up with those men while serving the Lord, no doubt it was a trap by the enemy. I have always been so grateful to the Lord that they left me. If neither your daughter or this man are trying to serve the Lord (being New Age would seem to say they aren't) just keep praying that the Holy Spirit would convict either one of them. The men who left me were not even Christians - I guess I was attempting "dating evangelism". But somehow I knew they felt there wasn't something right about dating me. I really think that their consciences made them leave. The Lord can even convict the unsaved. As Christian parents we never want to see our kids "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever, neither does the Lord. Keep on praying. Blessings to you.

Mama , Let them come to see you at Christmas . Trust God to do a great work in her life You and Daddy clearly can't change her mind So trust God to hep you love her back into a relationship with you both ...hating and resisting "him' wont bring her around any faster than if you Just trust god to give you a miracle . pray for them pray against his unbelief and false doctrine but plead the blood of JESUS over her daily and wait on the lord your God to return your daughter to her rightful place . God has no limits when he works on our children for us he wants to return them to a loving relationship where HE is included .Jesus has not let your daughter go you see? He went with her He may be grieved by where she takes Him but He still went with her . He watches over her and he is working in her life every minute of everyday . don't lose hope by what you see remember God is working and that is unseen by you . He is connecting people and places and emotions and energy and whatever he does ..... HE has this mama ... he is listening to all of us parents and dealing with all our wayward kids . He saw this coming he is not surprised give him some praise and some trust . Jesus can turn it all around for the good .
