It has been 6+ years since I last hugged my son. We have never met our little gd who is 3. Our move, retirement and new church friends have been wonderful and such a blessing to take the focus off the loss.
But for some reason this Christmas season I am so sad. I try to keep focused on all the blessings I have. Then I get an email or a card from friends telling all about their grandchildren. And I am envious. Not that I would ever want them not to have the blessings, just asking God why my DH and I have been forgotten.
I think the note about how my friend's daughter was lost to prostitution but God saved her, she met a wonderful, loving man who married her and adopted her 3 children (all from different men) and now they are expecting their child together, hit me. God definitely can change people! And I get anxious - why hasn't He changed my ES and DIL?
So, if you wouldn't mind, please pray hard for me, that my focus will turn from thinking of the estrangement of my son and DIL.

This happened to me when my friend Brenda passed away. She had the same cancer as Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts. She made it through the difficult cancer and is in remission. Would I want her to pass as well, of course not but I certainly couldn't understand why she was granted the miracle and my friend was not.
BUT: Then I really thought.....which one received the miracle, the one still living or the one who is now with God in all His Glory?
I don't mean to take it off topic and hope my comment makes sense. I agree wholeheartedly that it is very confusing just as Norske wrote it. I don't doubt Gods word, but at times I fear it does confuse me.
I will keep you in my prayers.
I guess we will never know God's doing. It is confusing. I am feeling better than I did earlier in the week. And I am forever thankful for all the prayers from this site. I know God heard your pleas for me.
