CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Last Christmas we were reconnected but strained. My son told me that they did not want me to buy any presents for him and her but I "could" buy a present for 4 year old granddaughter. They came for Christmas Eve for a short visit, for GD to get her present.
Now, a year later, there were no demands made. I sent them an email saying all the family is gathering at my lake home on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve my other son is coming to help me get ready for the next day and we will just have pizza, so they can either come and help and eat pizza or come on Christmas Day with the rest of the family. Haven't heard from him.
Her dad and step mom live only 10 minutes from them and they are together all the time. I am one hour north and see them about once every 2 months. Stay tuned - wonder what they will do?
We will continue praying for these children.
Didn't mean to preach, but, as you know, estrangement makes us tougher and wiser!!
Enjoy your precious family that you do have around you.
Hugs :)
I no longer even try to go near the toys, or the children's clothing department. May God comfort us, and forgive our children for the pain they've caused.
I am 5 1/2 years into this silence and no contact from my ED and grandkids .... and my thoughts now on Christmas and gifts or no gifts is that
because of the EC's selfishness, the grandkids miss out on so much more than toys, and that is something you just can't send in the mail or put in a package to be tossed in the trash. It's just lost and rejected. So, I try not to feel bad about not sending gifts ... I know that I might as well take the money and throw it in the trash myself, but in the grand scheme of things ... they lose so much more than toys ....
So, don't sweat the small stuff, the Christmas gifts ... and just pray for their hard hearts.... hugs ... estrangement puts us in such awkward uncomfortable and unnatural situations, especially during the holidays ... they have truly cut off their nose to spite their face and have been deceived by the father of lies ... satan himself....
