Yes, waiting and not controlling is by far the hardest part for me, too, in all this. We are still estranged from my 18 year old who has a newborn baby girl, so I certainly don't know the answer to reconciliation, but just a few things to keep in mind from a Christian counselor we see: don't play games- especially on FB or any social media. all the blocking/restricting/posting can get childish if we're not careful and second, don't expect the arrival of the baby to solve relational issues that need to be addressed and dealt with so the relationship can move forward.
So happy for you- I can almost "hear it in your voice". You give the rest of us hope that one day these prodigals will return.

Thank you givingupcontrol, it is a very difficult journey and additional hurts when we have the grandchildren too. My ED has me so restricted on FB that I cannot see any pictures of the other 2 GC. Its been over a year and a half, I know they have changed so much. I am sure they wouldn't know me anymore..well the youngest one never really knew me, as she is only a little over 2 years now. I will never understand destroying the relationships for the grandchildren too, Grandparents are an important part of a child's life. I can only think they truly are blind to what they are doing. I just keep praying and giving it up to God. And yes, with this new baby, I may never hold her in my arms. It is heart breaking. It may take a long long time to get further than a few emails, but I remain hopeful for this situation and everyone elses. God hears our prayers, He loves us. Blessing and hugs.

No one loves like a grandma. It is very selfish of EC to keep their children from that love. They lose so much.

I will lindajoan, I have composed an email to her to send tomorrow as her c-section is Saturday. It just very brief, just words of encouragement, letting her know I will be praying for her. I have not asked the time or any details. I just said that I would like to hear, if she would like to let me know. And then I listed her verse that we read at her dedication. I will be in prayer for her early Saturday morning, I am going to give it up to the Lord and ask for strength in not spending the day worrying if I do not hear. I gave her into the Lords hands and He has her. I am sad that I will not be there, but it was not my choice. I am trying to not be too sad about not holding this little one in my arms the first day she arrives. Its gut wrenching as the other family and friends will be there, I wonder what stories or things will be said and the explanation given as to why I am not there, her Mother and Grandmama. This is where the tears come and I don't understand....back to my knees and praying for God's comfort and as I pray I ask for comfort for the rest here on this website for I know the pain I feel is the pain we all are walking through and it is so hard! I cannot let satan win and take my joy. I will continue to take it to the Lord and not give in! Okay, drying my tears now ....going to try and do something productive this evening....love to all!

Just got a text with a picture of baby girl born to my ED and husband a few moments ago. Mommy is good. Baby is good. I am thankful that she sent it to me right away, pic was still in the OR suite! She looked very happy. I am not going to think or plan any further than this moment and just send up prayers of thank you's to our Lord, He has them in His Hands. What's next, I don't know, and just not thinking about that today, will just rejoice in the moment. Thank you for your prayers and support! I am now breathing! hugs and more hugs!

Praise God you received this. God is at work. You are waiting on Him for the next step which is always right.

Thank you lindajoan and Norske, it is a hard path. God is working!! I am learning to ask God daily what he would have me do.This is new behavior for me and my steps are pretty wobbly. I get inpatient and want to run instead of walk a step at a time. I try not to be negative and have certain expectations. I never thought I was a controlling Mom, more of a Mom who let my kids walk all over me. I didn't share my feelings when it came to me, personally and instead became resentful and hurt when my expectations were not met. When I get angry and hurt, I am taking this to the Lord now praying about it and asking blessings on my EC...boy is this ever hard!!!!! I know as the relationship is restored the issues will come up again (scary) and want the Lord in the center of it. I am learning a lot, He is working in me and my ED! No word from my ES, but that will be God's timing too. So thankful for this website, I am learning so much from others! hugs
