From a TV interview with Phil Donahue...“It’s not necessary to be born again. You have your way to God; I have mine. I found eternal peace in a Shinto shrine … I’ve been to Shinto shrines, and God is everywhere.” When host Phil Donahue questioned him about this, Peale replied, “Christ is one of the ways. God is everywhere.”
Peale also wrote in one of his Guidepost articles about Bill Wilson of Alcoholics Anonymous founder saying...." Once, I remember, we were talking about heaven. Doubtless remembering his dismal days as a drunk, Bill said that he probably would never get there. “Yes, you will,” I assured him, “because you have lifted more people out of hell than any person I know.”
Any writer that promotes beliefs that "Christt is only one of the ways to get to heaven" rather than Jesus being the way, the truth and the only way and that people, by doing good works is assured of getting to heave when scripture clearly says that it is not of works lest any man should boast will not ever have his books promoted on this group or his "power in positive thoughts" be taught in a round about way.
