CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
• The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes (1937, revised edition) – The first forty pages or so of this voluminous work laid out the mind-over-matter philosophy of California mystic Ernest Holmes, which became a major influence on New Age spirituality. Holmes work reflects a wide variety of influences, from Emerson to Christian Science founder Mary Baker Eddy. Holmes never became widely known but influenced many who did, such as Norman Vincent Peale.

There are plenty of books that are Christian that speak of positive thinking, that is not, but it is helpful. In my younger years I read that along with others and found that the BIBLE was the best self help book there is, a good study bible with verses quoted for problems we are dealing with. This trial is meant to draw us near to him....how?
Prayer
the word....its that simple....
Christians are supposed to be real.....
'My pastor said, " a healthy church is one that has people that feel they can bear their souls on their fellow sisters and brothers at church and not be ashamed. I agree, being positive is important, but we must work through our trials and that is not always a happy place to be. Even Jesus weeps when we weep. He doesn't want us to wallow in self pity, but we must feel through each pain.
Grief is not something we can skip through or run through...and the key is we must go through it...highs and lows...are very normal.
Matthew Chapter 5:
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
This New Age positive thinking that you were essentially promoting Peales book is a doctrine and a practice asserts that man allegedly has the power within himself, or the ability to tap into a higher power within himself, to accomplish whatever he desires by learning how to visualize it into reality.
Oh, and please do not threaten me with..." Do I need to post Matthew Chapter 5 on you again?" This alone would have gotten you banned in any other group.
I will not stand by quietly and let New Age thought take over this group without bringing the dangers of it to the attention of those who may be looking for that one thing that will give them what they want if they just learn how to do channeling through prayer.
