CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

My DH and I heard a joke once about someone that died and when they got to heaven they just gave the Lord the dickens because He did not answer their prayers....Well the joke continues with the Lord telling them that when they were up on their roof, while the waters were rising higher and higher around their house, that He sent them first a log floating by, then a boat, then a helicopter and they waved them all off and did not take the help He sent them...so it wasn't His fault that they drowned.
Ever since hearing that joke, my DH and I have had to sometimes remind ourselves when we put the wall up too high so that we fear to trust what we are seeing is the answer we prayed for and trust that Lord is in it, that perhaps the Lord is sending us a boat and we need to just trust and get in it.
The tragic truth is that as long as we put up walls with people who have hurt us, that the bigger problem we have is that our trust in God has been damaged too!
I must confess Edr that I have had the same walls up too, especially with my DIL's! I have promised myself that I will never let them close to me again! But I know that I also don't want my sons to leave their wives, so if I want my sons back, I am going to have to take the walls down with the DIL's or there will never be hope of a reconciliation. I sometimes think that the reason I don't have my ES back yet, is because God is waiting for me to be ok with the DIL's again...not the other way around--->>>that the DIL's aren't grown enough in the Lord to get along with me!!
We're all hoping with all of our hearts that this is the real deal for you Edr...you see it gives us so much hope to see one of us have a reconciliation...so we're all doing our best to encourage and support you as the Lord leads us...Heavenly Father, show Edr your will here and give her courage to do what You ask of her...In Jesus Name, Amen!
Edr, that is very traumatic for everyone. I want you to recognize that, and take especially good care of yourself. Love yourself as God does, and lay your burdens down at his feet. Everyone is safe! Be very good to yourself in the good life God has given you. I promise you that will help things with your son in the long run better than anything else you could do.
