Didn't get the job and I am very disappointed. Both first and second interviews were so positive I was very surprised. I said I was leaving this is God's hands, but I have to say I really felt the blow. I will keep looking, it just seemed like a fit, but I can't see all that God sees, so I must trust Him. Teary tonight.

I'm sorry that this was not the job. You did very well to get so many interviews. It is disappointing. I believe that it God closed this door that He is going to open a better one. Saying a prayer for you.

My neighbor went on several interviews for jobs she had experience in and was turned down on all of them. She kept looking and now has been working a week in a job she would never have thought about really but is finding it is the perfect job for her. And her hours are great: M/T/w and Th until noon.

You will be in my prayers. God has a plan.

Thank you for the support, I would have taken the job, but God knows something more, and I need to understand this is for good. My husband related a story of someone he knew who talked about being on the road and his car indicator showed it was overheating, he had to turn around. He discovered the next day had he not, the timing would have been right to have been involved in a huge accident down the road with fatalities. The other interesting, (sends goosebumps) thing was that when he took the car in for service, they could find nothing wrong and the car never acted up again. Divine intervention! I must trust!! So, I will stop having a pity party for me. Count my many many blessings and wait on God's timing, which is always perfect. I will probably still do some teary stuff today...it means so much to have the support on this website!!!! Thank you, thank you! big hugs!

Very disappointing, grandmama. We would have all loved to hear you got it. But you did very well, and were definitely among the top contenders. It wasnt personal, there was just someone else who happened to be in the running who for some reason they decided they wanted. But I know you know all that.

Your husband is right. And it's true that when God closes a door he opens a window. I remember when I was in my twenties, my first job after college, I got laid off from a very small company in Houston that was having difficulties, and I was devastated. I was even driving their car, a Volkswagen bug, so not only had I lost a job I loved, but I was also car-less in Houston.

I cried and cried. Being in my twenties, it was, you know, the end of the world. Then I decided I might as well, being car-less, take it as an opportunity to go to New York City and go after my (very specific) dream job. My brother lived in Princeton, so this was possible to do from there. So I did, and unbelievably, I got my dream job, the exact same one! Which led to my life-long career. Talk about God opening another window!

Now you have this under your belt which is a good thing, like SallyAnn says, which you would not have had if you hadn't put yourself out there. Condolences on not getting the job, but I look forward to hearing what opportunities do work out for you in the future.

Alana, thank you for your words, wow what a testimony to what God can do! I know that the person who interviewed me really wanted to hire me, I have worked long enough that I could see this, but I felt very strongly there was someone else in the picture who made a different decision and that person had to follow. I will probably never know what happened, but hope to have a great story to tell someone else in a similar situation like you did for me today! I will keep you posted!

Grandmama2 praying that God will send you the right job. Several years ago I worked at a job as a temp for over a year but the owner would not hire me permanently, even though he constantly told me I was doing a good job. I couldn't understand and began looking for a permanent job with insurance and benefits. I cried because I didn't want to leave but I needed more money and benefits. After a few months the Lord gave me a better position with another company, almost twice what I was making and great benefits.

I had typed a long post and then deleted it. Suffice it to say, I know all about job success and job loss, and finding your niche in unexpected places. Ask God to direct you and you might be surprised where you end up. Remember, he owns the cattle on the thousand hills. He will look after you.

Thank you CanadianMoth, thought I had found my niche, been working in the field for many many years, but now entertaining that there may be something new and exciting around the corner, so waiting on Him to see what that is..hard. I think I am to learn more patience as there has been a lot of waiting the past several years. I am still not good at the waiting. Thank you for the support! hugs!

okay, so I didn't get knocked down, I am going on another interview..thank you all for the support last time...it sure eased the pain! A business person I know gave me the contact. and they want to interview me. Not sure if I am that well qualified, but I have taken positions before that were challenging and required a lot of stretching before....so I am willing if this is the job God wants me to be in. He will give us what we need. I really have to remember that I want God's purpose not my own...always been hard for me to give up control. I leave in about an hour. I am a little nervous....but that's probably a good thing. Would love prayers!

I'm a little late seeing this but just prayed specifically over it. Remember, God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called… Through Him, you can do this job.
