There's a verse in Jeremiah (and probably other books as well) that says the same thing: Jeremiah 29:12-13
New King James Version
12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

I think sometimes we are so used to tell God please do this and that for us that we forget our "good manner" before Him. In this article "3 Ways to Seek God With Your Whole Heart" by Barbara Austin, the author wrote
