I learned this song as a teenager. I used to love it. But then I heard something negative about the person who wrote it (I think from you). And, after that I found out something negative on my own about someone else who had written some other angsty songs that sometimes appeal to people. Now I take a lot of songs with a grain of salt - especially the ones that came from the "contemporary" Christian music industry, because like any other industry it can attract people who aren't under the proper spiritual guidance and don't have the resources to find their way through the situations that cause them to be able to connect with their angst.

I got this song mixed up with the "Surely goodness and mercy song" as to who wrote it. Now that you mentioned it, I remember then. It is a very nice song though. I heard this song the first time when I was in Thailand in a church. The song was sung by two young Thai Christian girls with one playing guitar. It was sung in duet. I believe the song was removed from a church's hymns. I can still listen to it myself and feel fine but would avoid posting it. This one is a mistake. Not sure I should delete it or just leave it. I like this Russ Taff's version.

Oh, I love the surely goodness and mercy song. I was just a little surprised, that's all. I think I always want to believe that people who write or sing songs like this persevere in faith. You could leave it up if you like though, it is a nice song.

I was going to post the Surely Goodness and mercy song but thought it was written by the other songwriter, and I chose this one instead thinking it had nothing to do with that author. The lyrics are very good. Churches removed it off the hymn books so that is good enough. There is nothing wrong with the Lyrics. I think I will just leave this one where it is (no deleting).
