Daughter's driving practice went well.

My daughter started to practice driving a week ago and went out to drive four times so far. We were quite nervous at first but it went very well when we went out to drive today. I gave myself some credit for being better at instructing her. I am sure I will feel much better when she gets her driver's license which could take three months since she is a nervous driver learner. She started to learn how to drive about 15 years ago and is now 35 going into 36 in August. One of the reasons why it went so slow was because I couldn't convince her how important it is that she knows how to drive. I thank God He got both of us going seriously in this driving matter this time.

So glad to hear your daughter's driving practice is going well. I'm praying for you both. Driving is such a valuable skill! Well worth the effort to learn.

We went out for my daughter to practice driving again today but couldn't go far because I was not in good condition. I was going to tell her we should not go since I didn't get enough sleep last night but I decided to force myself to do it. My daughter had no idea I was sleepy. We got on higher speed roads, and that was when my nerves couldn't handle anymore, and I had to take over the driving. Thank God we didn't get into any car accident. It was like I kept telling her "Stop, stop. Slow down!," and she said "I can't. The car behind me will slam at me." And I said sorry I didn't see that car.

I hope I won't be this way when I am more alert; otherwise, we will have to pay a driving instructor to get her to drive on high speed. I could drive okay despite the sleepiness but felt terrified when my daughter was not slowing down when I told her to at high speed. We probably have to go when the roads are very quiet. Thank you for your prayers.

You know I remember learning to drive and moving up a notch in speed and a driver was driving too close behind me and I was scared to slow down. New speeds are easier to get used to in lighter traffic when there's more space between the cars. But, when my instructor told me to slow down for a turn and I explained that the driver behind me was too close, the instructor said, "that's his (the other driver's) problem". I'm sure technically the instructor was legally correct, but just for practical purposes that's an unnerving situation, especially when she's just learning.

That was what my daughter said, that if she slowed down, she would get hit by the car behind her. I didn't notice that car because I was busy being scared to death that she would fly us off the road in a 45 mph speed. Your input is very helpful. I think I will tell her if someone hits her in the back, it is his fault (problem) LOL. I think I didn't know how to explain to her how to take her foot off the gas to gradually slow down instead of pressing on the brake when it gets too close to the stop. She told me after I took over the driving, I went even faster (60 mph), and nothing happened. Oh well, someone was tailgating me. That was why I had to speed up so he wouldn't hit my back!
