A scary message!
Daily Prayer for April 2
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. Isaiah 51:6, NIV
Lord our God, in you we want to find our strength, in you we want to hold out even in these times. We rejoice that the end is coming, the end you are preparing, when your salvation and justice will come on earth according to your promises. Be with us and with the believing circle given to us through Jesus Christ. Make us alert and give us fresh courage again and again, however difficult life may be. We want to continue to live and find strength in the grace of Jesus Christ, holding on in joy without grumbling and complaining. Lord God, may your name be honored, your kingdom come, and your will be done in us according to your plan. Amen.

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light. John 12:36, NIV

According to His riches in glory refers to a biblical promise found in Philippians 4:19, which states that God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. This verse emphasizes God's provision and generosity towards believers.

The scary part is "Its inhabitants die like flies." I use a desktop computer with a monitor screen the size of a small flat-screen T.V. The sadness, emotional pains and fear are clear in those survivors' faces. The truth is human beings have been dying like flies from covid and natural disasters, and of course by crazy people killing people.
In 1987, we were in the California earthquakes that were quite big. Two sisters were walking towards a college campus in Los Angeles, California. One of the two was hit by some heavy rocks that fell from the cliff and died right in front of her sister. I was in the kitchen in our apartment at about 8:00 a.m. when the pots and pans were shaking. A few days after that, I was sleeping on the bed and it wobbled. A small brick building in town collapsed. I was scared to death and we moved to Michigan. I am not really complaining but wonder whether the tornados will stop or will continue and get worse.
But I think "dropping like flies" is an overstatement. I saw a report that 300 tornadoes so far this year had killed around 20 people. Which is very sad, especially for their families, but most people in the areas where the tornadoes have been have not been killed or even injured.
