Called an old friend.

After thinking and praying about whether I should call this one friend, I finally picked up the phone. We talked for about an hour and a half, and I told her I would like to go out to meet with her in a fast food restaurant when she and I are alert. She is 65 years old. She told me she retired from work last year. I told her I am not in good health and will call her again when I am not tired. She told me she was glad I called. I don't know when we will talk again. It is going to be up to me to follow up. 


I hope everyone gets good sleep tonight and has a good new week.

Good for you for reaching out. Even if it's up to you to call her, she was glad to talk to you - so that's another possible connection.

Thank you. The reason why it will be up to me whether this friend and I will continue talking is because I told her I don't like phone chat since I haven't talked on the phone with any friends for a long time, and me being older now with health problems, talking on the phone for longer than twenty minutes is very exhausting for me. She can't type fast and writing is not her best way to communicate, so we stopped communicating two years ago when it started (when she wanted to reconnect with me). She is one of the two old friends in town I used to hang out with a long time ago, and two years ago she was the one who was eager to connect but I felt I was not able to socialize and hang out with anyone the way she wanted (talking on the phone regularly as way to rebuild a friendship).

By the way, I just found out that the federally funded clinic we go to can provide free rides for me to go to the colonoscopy. I canceled the appointment last month, and my family doctor sent me a letter saying I should go. So I am waiting for the colonoscopy place to call me back to reschedule.

Just found out that I misunderstood about the free rides I thought I could get from the clinic to my colonoscopy that I just got the date for May 1. I am checking another option or will plan to drive our car to go to the hospital and leave the car there overnight and take Uber back home and go back to pick up the car the next day.
