This is the first I am hearing about this.
T2bh she can write it off if she uses it for rent, medical, dental.
If your state supports a thing called 'family support', you could deduct the total amount of child and spousal support. She would then have to claim it.
Where are you getting your financial information from?
Real estate taxes and interest paid toward a mortgage can be written off.
Anything spent on medical bills ABOVE 7.5% of your annual gross income can be written off. For example, if you make $50,000 a year, any paid medical costs that exceed $3,750 can be written off- if you spent $5,000 on medical bills for yourself or your children in that year, then you can write off $1,250. (But beware, it's not always best to write this off. The person who does your taxes will advise as to whether or not you should itemize.)
Clothes and entertainment can only be written off if they pertained directly to business matters.
As far as child support goes, the "write-off" comes into play when it's your turn to claim your child/ren as dependent/s on your taxes. Unless of course your state calculates child support with the assumption that the custodial parent will always claim the child/ren, in which case child support will be lower.
