Does anyone have any ideas about how to tackle the following issue.  My ex husband lost his job and has been unemployed for four years.  He refuses to get another job.  Because I was the one with the full time job and all of the money -- retirement and salary -- I had to give him joint custody to keep my daughter in private school and to not have him make me poor with support and alimony.  On top of this, he had wracked up $40K in debt that I knew nothing about.  Fast forward four years and my daughter has been invited to some wonderful summer programs -- including a science leadership camp that are beyond my reach -- but wouldn't be if he was paying for any thing.  Even though we share joint custody, my daughter spends every night with me and most of meals.  She spends a night with him rarely and often only when I am out of town for my job (not more than twice a year).  I am paying for her private school tuition, health insurance, dance, voice lessons, thater, cross country, flute, clothes, food.  My ex pays for absolutely nothing.  What can I do?  I don't have enough money left to fight him for custody after I pay for everything, although I would like to.  I am sure I don't qualify for reduced legal help, because I do have money, but it all goes to her.  And I also cannot squeeze blood out of a turnip.  He has nothing to go after, although his mother seems to send him plenty of money to conver things.  His parents are wealthy.   Thoughts on what to do?  I am also afraid to hurt my daughter's feelings by going after custody and support.  My ex likes to make sure she knows that I am the bad person.
