My ex hasn't paid any child support since it was ordered in August. I filed for contempt of court and we go on Monday for the hearing. If he's arrested, how does it work? Will he have to have someone bail him out? How do I get the money? And what would happen to him if he didn't show up to court?

Anyone been through this before? I would be grateful for any information.

I dont know alot about this so I did some research for you. From what i've read, he is probably going to jail, unless he brings the full amount owed to you, and even then he could still go to jail since being in contempt for nonpayment is a felony. It will just depend on what the judge says. If he goes to jail, the judge will put a bail amount on him and when he post's bail that money is to go towards the past due child support.(Which i think is a very smart way to collect!) i think that in some cases depending on how much hes back due for child suppot the judge depending on your ex's attitude if he actually showes up as well as anything else ( in ocurt for the same matter before) the judge might give him time to get the money together
(have the money by DEC,5 2010 or spend time in jail for example) hope it goes well for you
