I am so sorry that you find yourself in this situation. The worst part is waiting. I pray that everything will be fine, but you should also prepare for the worst. For now, try to keep your mind busy with positive thinking and enjoy life as much as you can without thinking too much about the outcome. When you receive the results you will tackle it with full energy and focus if they are not what you expect. I wonder why it is taking so long for your biopsy to be read.

Welcome to the waiting game! It is was it is and you will deal with it when you finally have answers. Know in your heart and in your head that IF it is something, you are already doing the right thing to get rid of it!

In the meantime try not to dwell on the "what if's" are they are many. Enjoy the holiday season.

Thank you for your kind words. I will be sure to post my results on Tuesday. This is my first semester back in college and finals are starting next Thursday (I'm taking 7 courses), It couldn't be worse timing.

Sherri, I am with you here, I'm in the same boat. My complications started last May with an irregular pap that lead to colposcopy/biopsy-- diagnosed as HPV and CIN 1. I went in yesterday for my second follow-up colposcopy with biopsy (they took 2 samples this time) and my Dr. said that one of the lesions looked like it might have been CIN II. If it is moderate dysplasia my Dr. would like to do cold knife conization, but from what I'm reading it can cause a lot of pregnancy complications like preterm delivery. I get my results on Tuesday, the 7th.

I want to have children more than anything in the world, so I'm wondering if I should try to get pregnant and then worry about getting the conization after. I am 25 and in grad school and of course, next week is finals week. Does anyone know what the chances are of CIN II going away on its own? If I wait it out until after I get pregnant and deliver, am I taking a major risk?

I had my son in 2008 after two years of trying to get pregnant. You never know how long it will take, and I know of several women who had successful pregancies after a cone biopsy, but talk to you Dr. about your options.

That is good to know. Long-term damage is my main concern. It's just so scary to trust that your doctor's motivation is only to help you and not just the almighty dollar.

I would really like to get feedback from anyone who has had children after cold knife conization. Or if anyone has input about waiting to get the procedure until after you have kids.

Finals will be difficult, I keep thinking about this. The receptionist at my Drs office said I could call yesterday and get my results. Well I did, she was gone for a long time and when she came back she said, "You need to wait until your appointment Tuesday, the Dr. will want to discuss everything with you."

I don't think it's going to be good.

Sherri, I can't help but noticing some of the similarities in our experiences. When I went in for my first colpo/biopsy, they scheduled me to come in 2 weeks after to get my results. This seemed like a kind of long time to me. One of my friends had gone through the EXACT same thing, and her Dr. had called her with the results (HPV, CIN I, watch and wait for 6 months) within 3 days. I called in to see if the results appointment would cost anything-- $120 co-pay. This made me SOOO mad. I am all for doctors being thorough and having good bedside manner when they tell you what's wrong, but this was just pumping me for co-pay! I called in again and told them I really didn't have time to come in and could they please give me my results over the phone. The nurse finally told me that they were exactly the same as my friends, HPV, CIN1, watch and wait for 6 months. Now why couldn't my doctor have just called me and told me that?

I've since switched doctors. I told my current doctor what happened and she was absolutely appalled. I really don't feel like they should charge you more money by playing on your fears. We're all terrified that it's the worst case scenario. I would call in and ask if they're going to charge you a co-pay to get your results and if they say yes then tell them you don't have time to come in. I don't think it's necessarily as bad as it sounds.

After what seems like a month of tests and waiting I found out today that I don't have cancer! It is displaisia and can be frozen off in a couple of weeks. GREAT news Sherri!

My biopsys was taken on thursday and they said that I wouldnt find out untill the end of this week or the beging of next.... I cant stand waiting for anything and this is driving me insain.. Just wish they would tell me already Good or bad so I know waht to do next !!

Thank goodness that your results were positive. I hate the waiting game. But at least your results show that sometimes the results are good.

I also got positive results after several months of waiting and going from doctor to doctor. Seems like some people (even in the ultrasound department) do not know what they are doing. I recommend a second opinion to everyone after my experience. I still have a minor problem that is going to be looked at so I am not completely out of the woods, but I do not have cervical cancer at this point in time.
