I have a dual interest in the do-it-yourself solutions that individuals with disabilities utilize and/or develop to address certain challenges. As a researcher I am interested in the phenomenon of DIY accessibility solutions/practices and as someone with CP I am interested in finding and/or developing solutions that help me address my own personal challenges. One of the personal challenges that I have is finding ways to carry liquid substances without spilling them. I have some dexterity/muscle issues that make it very difficult to walk and carry drinks/food. For instance, carrying a cup of soup from the microwave to the kitchen table is extremely challenging. Does anyone else have this challenge? If so, what do you do to overcome it? Right now I use a large cup with a handle on it but if the cup is full it can be difficult to relax my muscles enough to carry it without spilling some of the contents.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

So voc rehab finally got in touch with me...it took like six months finally. The voc rehab person that they assigned to me is a lawyer and extremely knowledgable on disability law and he seems to know a great deal about how to get people placed in jobs and how to make their resumes pass ATS. I was really surprised at how articulate and energetic he is. I guess my question is how much I...

I have poor dexterity and low muscle tone(hypotania) Makes it hard to do even the simplest task, like playing guitar, But no matter how hard it get's I still play on, I keep trying.
For me, I carry everything with a lid, Like a can of soda, or soup, When I freeze it, I'll dump a container of it in a pan to heat it up,
then I dump it back in the container w/ the lid on (of course) So I can take down stairs or where ever.
