I would not keep that appointment--they are only having you go in to collect the copay or the money for the visit. If she is feeling fine with no illness, don't go back. If you have to tell the dr that you make an appoint when needed but at this time she is fine. Her primary dr can do what he's doing at her visits with him/her.

I would keep the appointment. Like seeing your dentist is recommended twice a year, it is best to stay on track and stay in contact. If your daughter was diagnosed in 2010, that's only 2 years or less. By following up once a year, things may show up in the annual blood test/exam that might otherwise be overlooked.
This way too, the file will stay active, and information will be readily available should there be any drastic change. I might take the chance with my own health, but not my child's. We are their protectors.

Why do a blood test every year? That makes no sense to me. If your daughter has Gluten Sensitivity or Gluten Intolerance or even Celiac Disease--her genetic Markers would be there, so there is no need for a yrly blood test. Her Genetics predispose her, and if she was having problems to where you seeked out dietary issues then she should never go back to eating gluten. If she is still having dietary, neurological, brain, etc etc etc issues then you may have to go even further and go Grain Free due to all the new research showing that All Grains impact the health of humans, cattle, etc. If you decide not get a blood test done yearly you are not doing your child any injustice. I would be more concerned of the child developing a "fear" complex by having it done so often--but that is just my opinion.--My brain works differently--I would also question--why and what is the dr actually looking for--is he looking for IGA IGE levels, or is he looking for inflammation? If he answers inflammation then maybe I would consider it if she started having symptoms or complaining of aches and pains. I have read where some dr's do annual testings for inflammatory responses but NOT everyone has the inflammatory responses all the time. If she's been dedicated GF then she most likely will not have inflammatory responses--Unlike us older people who found out late in life and more damage has occurred.

As you can tell, I totally agree....I wold not go.BUT if you have other children or even yourself or husband, i would have them tested even if they seem to be symptom free.Undiagnosed celiacs lead to all sorts of medical issues. Been there.Wish I had been diagnosed as a child. Cannot go backwards.

Oh Bambee you and I both--I am not battling in getting my son properly diagnosed so he doesn't go through what I have been through. What a Joke it's been. Extremely High genetic markers--Yet the dr wont write a letter for school for him to get the 504 form to help with his speech, motor, occupational, reading etc. He is there at the top academically but comprehension wise he is falling way below the scale and his speech is going downhill fast--why we don't know--Of course the dr's just want to label him with ADD--when I know for a fact that Gluten intolerance creates a disconnect to the brain--which leads to all these problems like ADD/ADHD, etc etc etc--Dr O says the number is now up to over 200 conditions---When is the country going to wake up. I went a ballistic on his psychologist for not accepting Gluten intolerance as a factor in his impairments and delays. Thank goodness I was in a room all by myself I used language that doesn't normally come out of mouth, but I am just so sick of the narrow minded incompetant dr's for not looking beyond there little box. URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.--Sorry venting!!!
