Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...

Hi Shannon,
3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and it has been over whelming to say the least. The above website gives a list of GF Additives. Do you think that maybe they are just wanting your child to be free of processed foods with additives. I do know that one does have to read the labels and there are a lot of GF items out there that are not listed on the product. I have actually e-mailed and called the 800 # to find out it an item is GF if it's not marked and it looks like it to me. Hang in there, I know in time for myself shopping will get easier..
