Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...
I understand from Nanny, here on this site, that the tests for celiac are only 40% accurate. She always suggest to get off gluten for 90 days and then slowly reintroduce gluten into your diet. If it makes you sick or gives you symptoms then you shouldn't have gluten.
Good luck in your search for better health.
Really hope you feel better soon.
Please do not stop eating gluten, this will alter the results. My doc asked me to continue to eat gluten until the endoscopy was done and then asked me to go on gf diet after it was done.
