Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...

No beer. You can have wine but not any wine cooler that contain malt. I will do research to find out about hard liquors. I don't drink these so I don't know about it. I'll try to find out and I'll post it for you. Their is a new gf beer called Redbridge by Anheuser-Busch, that my husband bought me and I find it good. I'm not really a drinker but every now and then when we Barbeque I like having a cold beer or a glass of wine. We found the beer at Wal Mart for 6.97 a 6 pack.I'll get back to you later.

Albertson brands of Vodka nad white tequila are GF. Holland House Margarita Mix is GF and also Bar-tender margarita mix. Hope this helps. If you can't pull up this site go to www.celiac.com and type in gluten-free liquor and it should come up. Good Luck.

Bacardi original and limon are gluten free, most vodkas thats restaurants have are not GF because most vodkas are made from grain alcohol. Same vodkas and they are very expensive are made from potato's those are ok. Hope this helps

I have been recently diagnosed and have not drank much beer in recent years because of how it made me feel. Found all kinds of gluten free beer at health food store and local drive thru said they can order any one i want as long I order at least 1 case at a time..Redbridge and Bards Tale Dragons Gold are really good just kind of stout..

All distilled alcohol is GF even it's made from grain. The distillation process gets rid of the gluten. Celiac.com has a whole article on this. Just be aware that any distilled alcohol that's flavored with malt or barley is not GF. Thanks!

I have been told by my drs that distilled wines, which most are, and rum are the only beverages we are supposed to have, but shouldnt!Hagd luv momaT/taylor

Wines are usually made from fruits which makes them safe. Wines are not distilled but fermented. Most hard liquors are distilled like Vodka. Without any added flavorings all distilled alcohol is GF. Unflavored Rums are also safe. Rums are usually made from sugars.

There are 3 types of beers that you can have. I'm not sure if you have a Whole Foods Supermarket near you but thats where I found the Gluten Free Beer. The names are New Grist, Gold's Dragon, and Redbridge. They are very different, I dont like the first 2 but Redbridge is made by anheuser busch (same company as budweiser). They only make it in 6 packs, but it is really good. Hope this helps!!
