I've recently learned that our Lord has appointed me as a member of the team that looks after cats.
Most here have read my previous 2 or 3 entries on how Callie came into our lives but another event happened.
My hubby's son recently bought a house that had renters in it. Over a few wks we were there with him checking things over & waiting for the deal to close I noticed a litter box in the basement. We thought OK they forgot to take it, so what. Several days later we noticed it had major been used, OH BOY, there's a cat left somewhere in this vacant house, hiding somewhere. I couldn't stand the thought of it slowly starving to death so while hubby's son had to be out of town we've been going over & feeding it & taking care of the litter & the house is way across the city. Took flashlights, treats, tried everything & could not find a cat. Got a hold of the agent who dealt with the seller & all that happened was he dropped off a trap cage. Oh well at least it gave us a chance. So last night we went & set it up & put our usual food & water in the back of the cage. Went there this morning (& I had prayed & prayed & prayed) & sure enough a black & white cat in the cage. She's so upset & traumitized, being abandoned & everything. I sat & talked & softly talked to her & she had started reaching out to me. So today we got her safely to our Humane Society. They said by their rule they have to call the owner & advise she's there which I did not like but the woman also said they have a way of approaching it to help discourage them fr coming back to get her.
I feel like the biggest burden has been lifted but I also thanked the Lord & told him if he thinks I'm Guardian Angel material then I guess I'll take the job.
Good for you kitty3. Your a blessing in my book. It makes me happy that there are others out there with caring hearts to reach out and help those poor kitties. I can't believe how cruel those owners were in abandoning the cat. Bless your heart and may the Lord watch over you and direct you to more kitties to save. :)
Yeah I've done plenty of that in my life. Lost homeless kitties have always found food and a place to rest at our place. I was raised that way.
Both of my cats were once lost homeless (and in Ashera's case, starving, dehydrated and flea covered) kitties before they crossed my path. They're both happy and healthy now.
