I had the cortizone shot back in September. I had immediate tremendous pain with numbness of the entire hand. Within 5 minutes the hand was no longer numb, but had a small amount of pain.

I had an allergic reaction within 24 hours--had bright red face, tremendous migraine, very hot, and very tired. I used frozen gel packs with cotton covers and put them on my head and face and went to bed. I had migraines every day, all day for the next two weeks.

I have to see the specialist towards the end of next week and I don't know what can be done at this point. In fact, I don't know that I want anything further done. That allergic reaction really did me in.

I have had a single injection. Nothing was numb and I did not see an improvement for about 4 days. After that the improvement was so and steady

I had one a few months ago. It didn't seem to help too much the first few days, but afterwards, I haven't had anymore problems.

I got a shot today. I did not feel any numbness. Hand is feeling kind of better. I was told it would take a few days before I would feel a difference.

And the length of time it lasts varies from person to person too.

Hi I've had 2 in each hand with another one this past week injected into my wrist. My doctor had numbed my hand before injecting the Cortizone because as I'm sure you know it is quite painful even with numbing. My numbness from that lasted around and hour or two and then in about 24 hours time or less I began having relief from CTS symptoms. Each shot lasts me approximately one month....not long enough for me but enough to give me some decent rest/sleep for that month.

I had a cortizone shot from the hand specialist and it did absolutely nothing to improve my pain. In fact, it made it hurt even worse. I don't know if that means it was in the wrong place, I'm allergic to it, or what.

However I know many people who have received cortizone shots (not just in the hand) and it really made a difference for them. I think the only help I will have is surgery. My uncle told me a month or two ago that surgery made a huge difference. :-)

hi, had a corizone and novacaine mixed together shot in right hip on the 25th of June.......sore from the needle for a few days, am doing somewhat better, also been prescribed Meloxicam.....too soon to tell about that.....

I had one the week of exams, and it was numb for most of the day. Can't say I will have the shot again, but it did help for about 6 months

I had one prior to surgery and the doctor figures the reason it took so long to close was because of the cortisone shot. It did nothing for me

I also had the shot and it last into the next day. I pretty sure I won't do it again though.
