Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Support Group

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist causing symptoms like tingling, numbness, night time wakening, pain, coldness, and sometimes weakness in parts of the hand. CTS is more common in women than it is in men, and has a peak incidence around age 50 (though it can occur in any adult).

My doctor referred me in mid may to have the EMG test, the one where they insert a long needle into the muscles, suspected carpal tunnel syndrome. Just wondered if it hurts, and how bad. Can you describe your own experience please, and tell me if it hurts worse than a flu shot/blood test, much more, a bit more, the same...Keep in mind this is NOT just a nerve conduction study, but the part with...

    CT release on both hands?

    2
I have RA induced CT and am having the release done on the right hand next month. I will have to have the left done also. Has anyone had both hands done at the same time? I figure it would save time/money to do it at the same time, but I also don't want to be too indisposed by having both hands immobile. Would appreciate your thoughts and advice.

    CTS due to RA

    2
My doctor suspects that my RA is leading to CTS. The pain is bearable and i use ultrasound to treat it. My ultrasound treatment works well but in case it doesn't always or I can't ultrasound; i would like other options (BESIDES PRESCRIPTION DRUGS) preferably something all natural. I'm new to CTS can anyone help?

I was given a cortisone shot in January and had open carpal tunnel release on March 30, 2016. I did not heal until August. I have had nothing but issues. I was referred to a pain clinic and given meds. I do not want to rely on pills. According to the...
