Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.

It's still devastating.
My father talks often of a happy pill. It hurts to hear him but I understand. It's not a life merely existing.
My mother has dementia. She's in her own world but worries constantly.
I've had them for 66 years.
I feel their pain.
I sometimes wish we had religion. It might make it easier.
Gentle Hugs and Smiles.
If you think that religion would help......it's never to late have that.
I wish you well.
The worst help I get from my faith is when I get very specific about what I want. Often it would require a very obvious miracle, almost as powerful as raising somebody from the dead.
In many ways I get the most help when I let it all out. (Did that yesterday, Mrs. Pepper endured a lot of my anger and frustration before I could get things out.) More specifically letting it all hang out with people who either "really get it" or people who really care about me.
This forum is a good place for the "really get it" part!
My dad's last days were HORRIBLE and I feel absolutely no shame in wishing he would die.
It's OK to wish to be free of this burden!
I know that Mrs. Pepper has always been a rock for you. I've said it before that you are so lucky to have such a lovely person who get's you and allows you to vent with no compaints.
We all care so much about you and this is the place to letting it all out. We really do get it.
Hugs!
So sorry that your dad's last day's were so horrible. And of course it is ok to pray to be released from that burden for him and your family.
But I know that I am never going to get that. At least here in this world.
I do believe that asking God to relieve a person of their pain is a very valid prayer. It really bothers me that God lets so many of us have a terrible last days, weeks, months or worse, years, of life.
Love the mail story Pepper. Thanks for making me laugh on a horrible night!
I hope it gets better for you.
