I will try and keep this short. my parents neighbor of over 20 years was a healthy 73 year old man who went in for a valve replacement and things went horribly wrong. hisheart stopped when in recovery, they tore open his whole torso, induced coma, no movement or speech even when out of coma for 10 weeks, and so much more. found out he had to have both feet amputated midway and this was done 2 weeks ago, circulation issue from trauma. he is finally healing but wont be home until at least January. the wife is on a website caringbridge and one gets updates.
when I was over last night I filled them in about how his feet are healing and they will be able to get prosthics (sp) and what good spirits he is in. my mother actually said, I WISH SOMETHING OF ME WOULD GET BETTER!!!!I nearly fell over, saying how in the world can you say that? this young active vital man and his wife lives have been turned upside down over a realatively simple operation. I had to leave, I was sick. there is nothing one can neven say to someone like that. I know things aren't good for her, however she is 87and has lived a good life, I am still in shock
