I redently went to a motel for the night to get a break from my parents. They are both 80. My mom is sickly and can't get around much and my dad is able to do just about everything. I felt bad about leaving because my mom threw a fit. The nite off helped but I'm still exausted. Any suggestions. Its been since November when I was in the hospital that I was away feom them.

If we don't get away I truly believe we will go crazy. We have to take care of ourselves first if we don't how can we take care of our parents. I lost Mom in Sept. 2010 I still have dad but he's blind and has heart trouble. And very demanding.

You deserve a break so take it!!!

Thanks! I'm also baby sitting my grandson so my daughter can work..we go to the beach in september and I'm thinking about staying here. My daughter will be with them and my aunt will be there.
Really just waiting to get mom's byopsy results on wedensday
