No one on my father's side of the family will talk to me with the exception of one cousin. That's because my father has called and told all sorts of lies to them about me. He's done the same thing on my mother's side too. I've been nothing but kind to him, giving him tons of money and putting myself in a bad financial situation becasue of it. It's no loss losing my father's side of the family, but now I'm afraid to offer any help to him.
ONe of the lies he's told is that I've tried to force him to get a will leaving everything to me. This in spite of the fact that he's spend three years trying to get me to get a lawyer for him and I refused. Finally last year he convinced me and I got one, hiring a prepaid legal service using my own money. Then he refused to go any further. Now, he's not rich, has no money in the bank and there's no equity in the house. Add to the fact that I hate the house and don't want it. Add to the fact that I'm an only child and there's no one to leave anything too. Add to the fact that I've given him over twenty thousand dollars in one year. And I would never try to force anyone to do anything against their will.
Now, I'm afraid to have anything to do with him. What if he tells these lies to someone who believes them and reports me to law enforcement? He could ruin my life. What if he starts telling other lies?
As a Christian, I believe in forgivness, but as a human being I've had enough. I want to forgive him and forget him, if you get my meaning. I'm just tired of the whole thing. Tired of the screaming and insults being leveled at me.

I have the answer - COPY YOUR JOURNAL E NTRY and send it to all relatives on each side and ask if THEY would like to take over his care and the estate. Send it certified, receipt requested to be sure they all receive it and I bet you will get letters of support in a emotional way. If not, you have lost nothing. I'm sorry for all that you are going through. So wrong. You are being a good daughter and doing the best you can. Just concentrate on that. SUE

Truhal sounds like you fathers family is out to cause nothing but turmoil for you turning things around and accusing you of false intentions. do not allow them to get to you so much that you will be afraid to continue to help your father. they may be family but they are not immediate you are the only child the buck stops with you. they can create false accusations all they want but you know in your heart what your intentions are so that is all that matters. it seems that you are not receiving any help from them in order for you to seek out help with other members of the family they appear to me to be deceitful and dishonest when they can easily turn something good into bad and distort every effort you have tried to implement. you are in the battle now do not give up fight to do what is good for your father and leave them to their own iniquities.

honey, I understand. At some point your family has to realize that he just is not telling the truth. the same thing happened to me. My mom didn't realize that I could hear her when she talks on the phone, (we live in the same house) and I heard her telling someone that she was living with and surrounded by the "devil". Well I let it slide for a couple of weeks, then one day as we were talking nicely, and she was thanking me so much for helping her and all that I was doing for her my response to her was "pretty good care for being cared for by the devil. Huh?" I have since sent a letter to her brothers and let them know exactly what it is that I do for her and that if they feel that I am not taking adequate care of her, they can come get her. Of course, nobody has taken me up on the offer. Hang tough, believe me I know it is a hard thing to do!!!
