I wanted to let you all know that Mother passed away last night... sometime after I went upstairs at about 11 p.m. By then her oxygen was dropping low and her pulse was racing and irregular. I should have known and rather wish I had stayed by her side to the end... but hospice nurse said she probably wanted to do it alone. And knowing my mom, with her pride, dignity and privacy, I think that might be right. Still... I wonder.
But arrangements are going well. For some 25 years she was a faithful volunteer at Fort Concho here in San Angelo and they have graciously offered to host her Celebration of Life in the building that she hosted for many years for the Christmas at Old Fort Concho event. It seems so perfect... I just know she is pleased and honored.
I feel rather empty and undirected... to be expected, I suppose, after all the pressure that I've been under for these last months and weeks. It's a strange place to be in though ...
Thanks for all your support over the months, guys. I do truly appreciate it. And best of luck to all of you in the challenges you face still.

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

I hope you check in from time to time. We have lots of experience with the after part too.
When death arrives either suddenly or over a long period, the day it happens, we're never ready. There's always that feeling of emptiness. It's a very surreal feeling.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you come back out here when the arrangements settle down.
Best wishes to you and your family in this time.
Sincerely,
Pam
I'm glad her service will be near all her friends and where she's comfortable. Do keep us updated and your mom would have been proud of you for all you did for her.
Hugs, Terry
All this extra time, and not having to worry is such a big change.
keep on taking care of yourself...especially when sick people come to funerals and our immune system is down from grief, stress etc.
It took me a full year to finish my step father's estate...it really isn't over yet. be well.
and it is never enough so don't dump on yourself.
Hugs, Terry
