Caring For Aging Parents Support Group
Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Whether you have just started caring for your parents or just need a place to talk, we're here.
So I am doing some caretaking, as much as I can, since I also have a fulltime job, for my parents. My mom had to be hospitalized Sunday. She lets small things get her really angry. the doctor told her not to eat any red food and if they bring her red jello she pitches a little fit and refuses to eat. apparantly they brought her red food again this morning, but even though she had other options, she just refuses to eat, instead of asking for another plate or telling the cafeteria she can't have red food, she just says she wasn't hungry anyway. If she's in pain she refuses to let them give her pain medicine, if she can't sleep she refuses to let them give her something to help her sleep. It's really frustrating.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

We can't control other people even when they're making poor choices unless they're deemed a threat to themselves or others....
I used to find these times really frustrating as well..... big hug of support....xo
