Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. This broad responsibility can encompass such services as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care, and in-home care. Today, I saw a sweet lady who has known me since childhood and adored my parents. We talked about Dad being gone and Moms dementia.
She told me about being her Aunts caregiver in her home. The Aunt had dementia. Once they reached Hospice stage the Aunt looked at my friend and said "you use to be such a nice person and I cant imagine what happned to make you such a hateful person."
We both thought this was so funny. I know in her way she was makibg sure I knew that this stuff happens. It just is what it is and you just have to preserve the sense of knowing it is ok to laugh now and then.

One night just before closing, a tall, blond hair, blue eyed muscle bound young adult male threw himself over my counter screaming, " I am having a Mac attack RIGHT NOW! Only YOU can help prevent Mac attacks."
The manager was in the back and thought we were being robbed. The peace officers came screeching in silent with their guns drawn.
All for a Big Mac attack.
The WORST PART was that the young man was trying to get me to notice him to ask me out on a date. Once the peace officers came in he was too embarrassed to go thru with it. (The peace officers dragged him back into the restaurant to explain to the manager and promise to never ever have another mac attack unless he wanted to go to the ER!)
Ahhh,, ,young love.
Darn, and he was one of the rich kids too. I could have seen lots of movies.
