Sometimes we get down about what is happening to our loved ones and just wished. Things could be like they use to be. nad at those times we can't handle it. Today I came accross this scripture that spoke to me. maybe someone else in DS needs to read this too. I hope it will bring some healing to the heart and soul.
Today's Scripture
There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NLT
Thoughts for Today
Human life has a natural cycle that has existed since the time of Adam and Eve. It is wise to recognize the seasons of life including aging and death and to gracefully accept their effect on us.
During our lives, circumstances are always changing. When these changes are beyond our control, we must graciously accept what comes our way. Whether the season is pleasant or painful, it is good to remember that none of these seasons are permanent.
The true person we are, the inner person, can grow stronger even while our physical person is wasting away. The time we spend in physical discomfort in these bodies is nothing compared to the eternity we will spend in perfect wholeness in Gods presence.
Consider this
Be encouraged by these words of the apostle Paul: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
Prayer
Father, guide me through the seasons of life and help me trust you through each one. Help my parents and me to have an eternal perspective. In Jesus name
See I help take care of my roomates Grandmother and she is getting worse with her alhemizers disease. She wants to come home and we just can't work and take care of her. And her wish was she would never have to go to a nursing home. We have no choice but to put her in one now. And this is breaking our hearts. But after reading this scripture. It is a little easier know that we can't see what will be eternal.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
But that's us and our feelings, not reality and God's Plan. When we accept God's Plan and work within it, enabling our loved one to complete the stages as comfortably and peacefully as possible, we can feel good that we done the caregiving job as well as we possibly could.
We will sorrow at their passing, but also rejoice that they are finally in a better place.
Placment in a nursing home may not be what anyone wanted, but it is where she needs to be and where you need her to be. This will change the demands on you for caregiving, allowing more time to be shared with less time eaten in the daily care work. Do what you must to facilitate her passage through the stages and you will have done well. rocasi
I've also learned that if we do rely on God, we know that we can't be Everything to Everyone, that is His job, not ours. Sometimes we have to let Go and let God. He knows what is best for the season we are in.
