hi. I've been a DS member for years through the Chronic Pain group.
three weeks ago, my 29 yr old daughter had a major stroke ( not blockage..the burst and bleeding type)
in spite of very bleek original prognosis..
she has regained use of her leg..and is able to communicate. arm is starting to show signs of recovery.
anywaaay.. she and her 4 yr old son will be in mine and my husbands care until she is able to be self sufficient. ( going to be a long difficult journey for her)
she's coming home tomorrow her son has already been here.
I keep finding myself on the verge of panic.
she still has two other aneurisms which they were unable to address as she would not have survived it in addition to the surgery she had.
we have an appointment in five weeks with her neurosurgeon to discuss treating the remaining aneurisms,
I am still sometimes at that stage where every time I manage to get any sleep,, I reawaken to the realization that this isn't a bad nightmare.
know what I mean? ( although I am so grateful it is not a worse nightmare..her likelihood of survival and/or any recovery were very low originally
so..
here I am.

SO, as to your grandkid....a regular schedule, and maybe some sort of playgroup to help him settle in might make your job a bit easier.
I will say a prayer for your daughter and your family.
I felt like I was living in a nightmare also when it happened to my husband. The best advice I can give you is.......take it one day at a time ! And allow yourself to let other's help out.
