I look back on my life and wonder how I have done it; but look forward and wonder how I am going to continue. I have been on anti-depressants since 2001 and will probably be for the rest of my life.
I really feel for you and what you are going through. All of us as caregivers tell others they need to take care of themselves but most of us don't do such a hot job at it ourselves. I find myself sleeping a lot as well (when he isn't having nighttime delusions or hallucinations). You may want to see if your doctor will adjust your anti-depressant or add something new. I am not a big fan of drugs but I don't believe I could have done this the last 10 years without them.......hugs and prayers......Jeanmarie
For yardwork, can you barter with someone in your neighborhood? Maybe you can babysit a child or help with a project or some skill you have. Sometimes neighbors will do things for free if they know of your need.
Flowers - I know people get free cuttings and plants off craigslist or freecycle.org.
My kids have played their instruments free for seniors, it was organized either by their instrument teachers or myself and other moms. It's not virtuoso, but it's cute!
