My 29 year old newly married daughter was recently diagnosed with advanced stage colorectal cancer and has just started treatment. I've tried to find a caregiver support group but the two I found are comprised of spouses, partners or adult children caring for a parent. I need to share/vent/cry with other mothers who are suffering the pain of a seriously ill child. I am not uncaring or dismissive about the pain anyone feels but a mother's suffering for a child is in a special class. Is there anyone else going through something similar? Please respond. Thank you.
Not sure of a caregiver group for parents of children with cancer, but maybe just the cancer caregiver group might be good? You are also welcome to come here too, we know what you are going thru is tough, the suffering you are seeing with daughter - we see it is our spouses, parents, etc. My husband suffers with many illness and disabilities, tough to see him go from a vibrant, fun loving, happy husband to a depressed, angered, disabled man. It's tough on me, tougher on him. We are here for you any time you need to laugh, cry, vent, or need some support.
Yes there are other parents here taking care of sick children.

welcome to our group. I care for my husband and mother....but in the past I have had my daughter with surgeries and health issues, and my son is a recovered alcoholic....and we visited some bad, bad places. SO, I understand that I can not fully feel what you are feeling about your child...but I can relate. At least the part that as a mother, we suffer for our kids.
I hope you can find the support you need...and you can post here and we will try to support you. Such a shock. And I feel awful for her husband as well. I will light a candle for her today.
Your daughter is the same age as mine.
