Yep, my friend, I believe it. It's the "new" American way of employers. It's like we are employed "slaves". I feel sometimes the situation is similiar to the way the Hebrew children were treated in the land of Egypt before the LORD brought them out.
This whole employment situation is a nightmare, whether one is without a job, or has a job..
My prayers go out to you. This treatment is going on everywhere. Employers know they can do and get away with it because there is someone ready to "fill" your shoes if you leave.
I hate it that you are having to experience this treatment.

do you have to work on weekends too? If this job is not worth going for, then u might want to look for other jobs.

Weekends, nights, etc. Not that easy finding a job nowadays.

Any way that you think of turning that situation on its head? Maybe using some of the energy of that frustration to push into a better future? Maybe taking advantage of what you have learned to point yourself in a new direction?

I know jobs are scarce. I only want to point out -- as gently as I can -- that there ARE opportunities out there.

Thanks, Beekeeper for the advice, but at my age I'm not looking to reinvent myself due to the number of years required in additional education(I just went through that a few years ago). I already have a degree in IT, but sadly that career is pretty my closed to me because of age and the fact that I've been away too long.
