Reposting: Instructions for Flagging Content
Hey team!
This post was in the old/closed CL group, so I am reposting it here so everyone has access to it.
There are two types of flagging/hiding that Community Leaders are able to do:
1. Mark as Spam: When you mark something as spam it will hide the content from everyone’s view (sort of like a global ignore for that specific piece of content) and will automatically report the content to the spam fighting company we’re working with. We should use this tool in limited circumstances and only for people we are 100% certain are spammers, since for a variety of reasons we don’t want legitimate members being flagged.
2. Flag as inappropriate: When you mark a post as inappropriate, it hides the content from the site (still sort of like a global ignore for that specific piece of content), but it will not report that content/user to the spam fighting company.
I feel these are both very powerful tools, so again, we want to use these tools in limited circumstances, such as when DailyStrength staff is not readily available (if I go on vacation, or it’s the middle of the night and there is a troll who posted 100 discussions, etc).
Please let DS know when you flag something.
We want to be able to review flagged content so that we can take further action (if necessary).
If you flag something as inappropriate - in your email be sure to include a link to the post, the username of the member who has been flagged, and copy/paste the body of the post into the email.
If you flag something as spam, send us either the spammer's username or a link to their profile so I can ban the spammer.
If you mistakenly flag legitimate content as spam - please send us an email and be sure to provide me with the post title and username of the member whose content was accidentally flagged.
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend,
Jesse

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

So basically not used simply to attempt to delete something you don't like the look of - but I think we all knew that it wasn't for that.
Important point about making sure you report the thread/ post - you need to do the copy BEFORE you flag (otherwise you can't see it either).
