I was bullied at jonier school but I never really felt anger towards the other kids, they were just kids. All my life though I struggle to cope with what the teachers did. One bad day, I was late to school as some kids were bricking me. My teacher was very angry, I tried to verbally defend myself, it made him very mad. He broke my front teeth in front the whole class. I was only 8. After 4 hours of agony as the nerves were exposed, I was taken to the woods and my mother was called and told I'd had a biking accident. I was told if I spoke out, no one would believe me. Years later, I found several class mates suffered greatly from watching this all. Recently I tried to tell my mum, as predicted she didn't believe me. She knows I was bullyed, but thinks I blame her for not protecting me, so she refuses to discuss it. I don't blame her at all. Her mother was dying, she had too much to deal with. It was all so long ago, why do I still have nightmares?

When people get hurt physically (such as a bad cut) it leaves a scar that might diminish but usually never goes away. Think of emotional wounds the same way and you have your answer.

Perhaps it's time to find the fucker who hit you when you were 8, and find closure. And by "closure" I mean stick his hand in a doorframe and then close it.

Something should have been done right away. This shouldn't have happened in any school. It's unacceptable. Do you have the teachers name? Remember he's still out there and could be doing this to other children. He might have an anger problem but that's NO excuse. I think you should see a counsellor about what happened and get help deciding what to do to get past this. It's sad that your mother's not accepting this. I would sit down and tell her you do not blame her at all, but tell her the story beginning to end.

So sorry you went through something so horrible - so very young, and then weren't believed, and still aren't.

You do want to take any and all steps necessary to try to make sure that this animal is no longer in any job where he can harm children. Just one idea: many attorneys offer free consultations. A free consultation with an attorney whose office is near the school - even if you have no intention of hiring him, he/she might be able to advise you, and might check to see if there have been other accusations - it's shamefully difficult to stop violent behavior, but
any steps you take to get the truth out will be so helpful, for you and
others.

It's so odd what people choose to believe, or pretend to believe, in some cases. Failing to protect your child is the ultimate failure, whether anyone places blame. Mistakes are made, but not listening to the truth, not even today... no excuse for that.

I hope that you can find someone who listens, and gets the truth out there, for your sake as well as the community. Just addressing this will give you some peace.
