Oversupply

I have an oversupply that cause my ds (11wks) to have green bloody stools due to foremilk/hindmilk balance. I have stopped eating anything with wheat,dairy,eggs,soy,or peanuts in it for the last month. I have also been doing block feeding for 2 weeks now per my lc. I have to take him tomorrow to see a pediatric gastro. Dr n I'm scared he is going to say stop breastfeeding. I don't want to give him formula but I also don't want to be harming him due to my desire to breastfeed. Not sure what else i can do?

I also had an oversupply and you can definitely figure this out! How have you been doing block feedings? I nursed one side each session, but you could do one side for 2 sessions or even for 3 and then switch to lesson the amount of milk that you have. I recommend nursing slightly leaning back so that the milk does not overwhelm your baby. Also take the baby off during the letdown of your milk and wait for your milk to slow (mine used to make a huge puddle on the floor) before latching back on. You can nurse laying down on your side so any extra milk runs out of the babies mouth. There are many ways to deal with an oversupply, you DO NOT have to give up nursing!! Good Luck!!

I dealt with this issue too along with a dairy insensitivity. Once I eliminated all dairy products I used several of the kelly mom techniques. What helped the most was to pump before I nursed to get some of that foremilk out and to make the let-down less intense. sometimes it meant a crying baby while I tried to pump out milk, but it really helped with problem.
