Breast feed and Formula Feed

Does anyone do both at the same time? I am 8 months pregnant and I want to breast feed but I will have to supplement with formula. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible. My first son was both breast and formula fed.

same with my baby most times we have to do half and half because my supply is irratic.

I read somewhere (you can read anything these days) that FF babies should also get a probiotic (thats the new craze it seems) to help with the chanfe in gut flora that the FF brings.

Why will you have to supplement? I think that it is possible if you want it to be. Good luck and congrats on the soon to be here baby!

very possible. I supplemented with my first cause I did not make enough milk for him. I also have really jaundice kids so I had to supplement when they were first born. SO my 2 weeks old daughter already have formula but now that her jaundice has cleared up we do just breast milk.

For the first week of my DD life, I did both. She was fine with it. I nursed exclusively till she was 11 months, then I began to wean her slowly, while using formula to supplement.

I have supplemented just a little with my first and third,(about one 4 ounce bottle a week) but with my second son he never would take to the breast so I would pump and do half formula and breastmilk.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
