Hey! I just wanted to ask a few questions for any moms out there who do extended BF and did baby led weaning to solid foods. My daughter is 8 1/2 months old and is finally interested in food for eating so we have been slowly introducing things to her and it's going well. She still nurses the same amount during the day which is fine because I'm hoping to nurse for a long time! :) I usually give her small safe bites of what we are eating. A shred of chicken or a small bite of a broccoli etc. . My plan has always been to not use any pured baby food. Just what I have wanted for my family- def. don't have a problem with anyone else using it!! :) however, I've run into a problem with my mother. She is undermining a lot of my parenting techniques including my desire for extended BF and BLW. She keeps insisting my daughter NEEDS to wean by a year old and NEEDS to eat pured solids several times a day now. (currently I give her things when she is interested in them- usually when I'm eating and she may end up eating a few bites a day) she has gone as far as to buy things of baby food and put them in my daughters Christmas stocking which they gave her tonight. I usually get along well with my mom but I'm having a hard time now because I feel like she is undermining my parenting. Have any of you run into problems like this and how did you handle it tactfully and nicely. I want to take a stand for what we believe in but don't want to be mean. Of course the problem is not sO much the food we were given but the utter lack of respect for what our wishes are. Any advice would be appreciated!!
