Surgery On Monday....

The Hospital called me yesterday and told me to be at the Hospital by 7 am, and that my Wire localization, and Sentinel Node Mapping would be at 8 AM, followed by Surgery at 10:30. An hour and 1/2 later, and I will finally be in recovery.
I have never had General Anesthesia, only Twilight with Local. Is it the same thing, or do they put that horrid gas mask on your face? Any info to soothe my nerves would be wonderful..Wish me luck.

glad you are in your own bed and that part is over.
I haven't gone through my surgery yet but i'm sure that with the help of those who have gone before me i'll be fine.

Your welcome tierra, and best of luck to you with your surgery ordeal. Are you just having a lumpectomy/sentinel node removal? For some reason I was in there for 3 hours. It was supposed to be 1 1/2 hrs..If you have never had General Anesthesia before, ask for Anti-Nausea meds to be put in your IV. The side effects are nasty on their own, without the addition of Nausea. So I finally took my bandages off yesterday, and all I can say is "The Bride of Frankenstein Lives!" LOL I see the doctor again on Friday, I assume he will have my results. Will post again soon.
