I know exactly how you feel. I had both removed and it sucks. I couldnt take narcotics so I dealt with the pain & discomfort too. It does get better so hang tough & be strong. Try to walk around, my doctor said it helps circulate your blood and that helps the healing process.
Positive thoughts going your way,
Wendy :)
well the first week is hard. Its been 11 days and it is not painful just really uncomfortable. I do not take their painkillers but they would probably help a lot!!
Walking and and doing the prescribed exercises helps.
It is hard because you know there is more treatment to come. That it is not over yet. Scared for the next part. The waiting gor tests is difficult.
We will hang in there together!
Wendy :)
All are normal reactions, now is not the time to hide feelings, but if one has depression, anxiety , or trouble sleeping, get medications, they are not for life.
Can help with the surgery, treatment, going into instant menopause because of chemo.
For friends and family is time of lots of hugs, surprise with meals, babysitting, clean house.
Go to a support group, lists of them are in Reach to Recovery.
When time passes you will be amazed of your strength and the new you like a butterfly will emerge.
