Hi I'm a past member of DS with a new issue

Hoping this is same awesome website that i joined to advocate our cause thru a yr of chemo many years ago. 


In past week I went to follow-up mammogram which turned into 2 ultrasounds & 2 days later a biopsy.  Awaiting results early next week.  Any input or information appreciated.  I know I won't know anything till then.  Even w 3D I was clear last year.   However I now know I have a suspicious 4cm tumor.  During biopsy a titanium marker was left in breast for possible surgery.  Should I be more than normal concerned.  I'm watched carefully due to Hugh risk family history.

sorry to hear this....both my Mom and Sister were long term breast cancer survivors.....Mom lived maybe 40 years after her mastectomy....sister little less because she got it later and died of afib lot younger than mom lived....

I am waiting two weeks to get my biopsy after second mammogram and then the ultrasound. My cyst or lump is 4 mm also. I did read a statistic that 80% of breast biopsies are benign or non-cancerous. I also read that most of the cancers have irregular edges, not smooth edges or smooth circle, etc. I hope both of us are in that 80% group. I would say don't fret until you know

Hasty Im sorry it's taking so long for your results. Thx for info. I'm aware of the statistics which are encouraging. I'm preparing for both scenarios. In meantime I'm gonna go see my grandbabies play baseball & hug them. Go to zumba & pilates Tuesday. I heard staying busy & doing things you enjoy are helpful w wait. Hmm...going to my lake to fish regardless of results

How are you doing? I am not further along with what is called stage 0 breast cancer and scheduled the surgery. I found that my experience has been like yours, with the little clip they put in for a marker. I will have another real marker put in for surgery and that has its own risks as others find. Not common of course, but hitting a nerve or a blood vessel with insertion. But I found out they used to put a wire in women's breasts before surgery to find the area so all of this new technology is so much better.
