I have the BRCA gene mutation and was scared of cancer until I was poisoned by gadolinium based contrasting agents they use for MRIs. Now I have a not-so-rare man-made disease that is often times fatal and is very painful. But I'm here to tell you that there is a movie out that depicts how cancer research and cancer treatment has become a trillion dollar industry.
What you may all find fascinating as I did is that there is a cure and many have been treated at a clinic featured in the film. The saddest part, though are the children that died from chemotherapy and radiation. The FDA and the Texas Medical Board attempted to prosecute the doctor for 15 years. The movie is not about him specifically. After hounding this doctor for 15+ years he was cleared of everything but the FDA managed to suppress his work in that he can only offer his treatment to those that have tried the allopathic route first. Many die or are so sick his treatment doesnt work. I have known about my cancer risk for nearly 10 years now and I will not get chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Please I beg of you to become informed and get involved. The pink ribbon has become a symbol of greed and is used to bring profits to those that wish to exploit victims of cancer using fear tactics. Watch the movie Cut Poison Burn you will not regret it and it may save your life.

From a business standpoint it would be beneficial for a big pharma to complete the trials, buy the patent and make chemo drugs from other companies obsolete. I do think there is more to the story on why this hasn't happened.
I am a breast cancer survivor, but I don't wear a pink ribbon. It's a personal choice and I don't judge people for wearing them, but I just don't see any progress in treatment. I mean where is the money going? Chemo has saved many lives, but we need some new options.
We have technology that would help but we allow the FDA to suppress it.
