Anyone deal with complications to Chemo? My daughter developed Extreme Neutropenia within days of her first chemo treatment. She has now been hospitalized for 8 days with a Neutrophil count of 100. As it turned out her Oncologist prescribed Neutrogen too many days post Chemo and she was rushed to the ER before that day came. Once in the hospital they pushed IV fluids and antibiotics but no life saving Nuetrogen that she needed. It seems they forgot... In 8 days an Oncologist never saw her. Supposedly he was conferring with the ICU Doc but apparently not enough. She was near a sepsis level when they finally gave her the meds. She began to improve within hours so Her spouse and most of her family are all sick so she is at great risk. They just got heat to move her on due to funding I am sure. I worked at this hospital for years and it's a numbers game. I am so worried for her right now. She will stay with her grandmother who has the cleanest home and no pets. Makes you wonder why people even opt for Chemo.
