How many treatments will you have? I went through chemo and radiation in 2004. I know it is hard, but you will get through it and it will be behind you soon. Every time I had a treatment I told myself that it was one more down and one less I had to go through. There is a lot of support on this site and many women who have gone through it, too. Bless your heart, I wish I was there to help you.

After this one I wil have 3 left and then 6 weeks of radiation. Most of the time I'm pretty positive but that second treatment hit me kind of hard. Maybe since I have some idea of what to expect it might be a little easier. Thanks for your encouraging words.

That is the same regimen that I had. I was a stage 2 also. I would suggest that you drink plenty of water and I asked my oncologist about a stool softener. He okayed it and I took it starting the day before chemo. It seemed my whole digestive track was dried up, so the stool softener helped. Hopefully, you won't have that problem.

My thoughts are with you as well! Try to eat whatever you can to keep up your strength - whatever your digestion can tolerate! If cookies are the only thing you can tolerate, then cookies it is! I know you are supposed to eat everything healthy - don't we all? But if you can't get the daily calories in, it will make you that much weaker. You are on just about the same schedule as my sister - she had a course of chemo that was once every 3 weeks - and it took her a week to recuperate in between. Now, she is almost done with weekly chemo - and she tolerates it better, but has bad digestion problems. Next, she starts radiation - so that will be new for us. You are doing great!! I did 8 rounds every other week. A couple of times my liver counts were too high and zI had to wait a week. I hated that. I did have them marked onn the calendar and counted down! My hubby would come with to treatment and we talked and worked on "bucket lists" and things we wanted to accomplish. I hated doing it, but am glad I did.

One thing I never had was a lot of support. I tried support groups in the area and nothing. This morning I stumbled onto this site and think it is awesome!

Stay positive, you're half way there. I was where you are now three years ago. I was also stage 2. 16 chemo treatments and 6 weeks of radiation. There is light at the end of the tunnel. xoxo

I will have my chemo soon; I have stage 2. Will the hair(s) fall immediately after the first chemo? I will go through 8 sessions every after 3 weeks. A port will be inserted on me where the chemo will go through. Will the port insertion hurt? Do I need to be hospitalized?

The doctor told me it would start falling out about 17 days after, but it depends on your chemo regimin. I am on the TAC regimin. The doctor nailed the timing perfectly. It started coming out little by little. I just shaved it all off. The port was a simple procedure, 1/2 to 40 min. It was in and out no hospitalization. You're a little sore, nothing major. So far I'm doing fine. I'm getting used to fatigue. Make sure you get plenty of rest and take the nausea medinces. They really do work.
